We are preparing educationally, operationally, and agriculturally for our next chapter: one rooted in hands-on learning, sustainable food production, and deep connection to the land and community that have always shaped who we are.
This campaign supports the real work that happens before the first class steps onto the land: the planning, tools, materials, staffing, and systems that allow joyful, meaningful learning to flourish.

Gifts to the Preparing the Ground Fund directly support:
Hands-on food systems education: Seeds, soil, tools, curriculum, and materials for students to learn how food is grown, harvested, prepared, and shared.
Outdoor and land-based learning readiness: Safety equipment, storage, planning time, and supplies that allow learning to happen smoothly and safely outdoors.
High school expansion: Curriculum, specialized materials, technology, community partnerships, field experiences, and staffing capacity as we build a strong four-year high school program.

Seeds, soil amendments, starts, and the small supplies that get a growing season underway.
$50 — Tools for Small Hands
Gloves, hand tools, harvest supplies, and equipment children can actually use themselves.
$100 — From Seed to Table
Materials for planting, harvesting, cooking, preserving, and sharing what students grow.
$250 — A Week of Learning Outside
Helps cover the materials, transportation, preparation, and coordination behind one week of field- and farm-based learning.
$500 — Garden & Learning Infrastructure
Supports raised beds, irrigation, compost systems, storage, outdoor workspaces, and the equipment that lets students do real work.
$1,000 — Project Sponsor
Funds a substantial student project from idea through execution: materials, expert support, fieldwork, documentation, and the inevitable hardware-store run.
$2,500 — A Season of Field-Based Learning
Helps underwrite a full season of garden, ecology, food systems, and place-based work across multiple classes.
$5,000 — High School Launch Partner
Helps build Headwaters High School: curriculum, specialized materials, field experiences, technology, community experts, and the systems needed to give older students increasingly ambitious work.
$10,000 — High School Founding Sponsor
Makes a significant investment in the first years of Headwaters High School, helping us build the academic, experiential, and career-connected opportunities our oldest students need as the program grows.
$25,000 — Future Campus Partner
Moves Headwaters materially closer to a permanent home. Gifts at this level can support property search and evaluation, due diligence, deposits, acquisition costs, and the first work required to make a future site usable for children.
$50,000 — Founding Campus Gift
A cornerstone investment in a permanent home for Headwaters. This level of support helps turn building acquisition from a future idea into something we can act on—creating the financial strength to secure, prepare, and begin building a long-term campus for the school.
